Standing on the promises

One of the things I love about being a mom is enjoying the community of other mothers. We moms can come up with some great ideas, share some hilarious stories, and offer the kind of support that matters so much because it comes from someone who truly "gets it" and is living it out themselves on a daily basis. It's amazing how many like-minded mamas there are out there and how inspirational we can be to each other! So here is one of those little tidbits that I loved and want to remember as my little guy grows up... I'm a mom who wants my child to have a walking, talking, living, breathing relationship with God. And there are a lot of little things we can do to help foster that relationship. My friend, Sarah, just told me about a friend of hers who has a precious tradition in her family. She has elementary-aged kids and if whenever one of them is facing something hard or has a challenge ahead of them, she finds a good Bible verse for the situation and writes it on a little piece of paper. Then she puts it in their shoe and they "stand on God's word". Is that not the sweetest thing you ever heard?
